Camellia japonica (single red)
(unknown cultivar) Two species of Camellia are commonly grown in American gardens. They are Camellia japonica and Camellia sasanqua. There are countless varieties of each. This is an unusual but nice form of Camellia japonica. This beautiful and unusual cultivar was left with us a number of years ago for someone who was to pick it up and take it to Korea. It never happened and we unfortunately lost the name. Given how beautiful of a specimen she is, we propagated her and are please to offer this beautiful variety .Dark green foliage and very unusual single flowers with short deep red heavy textured flat petals surrounding abundant bright yellow stamens.
